FINE ART PRINTS TO HELP THE PANTANAL
2020 definitivamente está sendo um ano muito difícil para o Pantanal. Se não bastasse a pandemia que praticamente paralizou por completo o turismo e assim a fonte de renda de inúmeras famílias locais, agora temos o grande problema dos incêndios florestais. Nessa estação seca o fogo está consumindo o Pantanal em escala alarmante, talvez o pior ano da história. Milhares de hectares estão sendo destruídos e um número incontável de animais estão morrendo.
A ajuda governamental é pouca e amarrada em burocracias e interesses políticos escusos, por isso demora muito pra chegar onde realmente precisa. Dessa forma operadores de turismo locais, pousadas e ONGs se uniram para apagar o fogo nas áreas mais críticas. Mas isso exige dinheiro e em um ano onde o turismo foi paralizado, juntar os recursos necessários não é tão simples. Necessitamos de recursos urgentes para a compra de equipamentos e pagamento de serviços de trabalhadores locais nesse combate ao fogo. Os trabalhos estão sendo focados no Pantanal Norte, em especial ao redor da Transpantaneira e no Parque Estadual Encontro das Águas, em Porto Jofre.
Dessa forma estou vendendo as fotos abaixo para decoração como forma de angariar fundos para a causa. A Papaya Imagens, localizada em São Paulo, gentilmente cedeu gratuitamente 5 impressões em inkjet de altíssima qualidade no tamanho 59 x 42 cm (A2) em papel de algodão fine art. Os valores pagos serão 100% doados para o combate ao fogo no Pantanal. O dinheiro será depositado na conta da Panthera, ONG de alto renome internacional na conservação de grandes felinos e com forte atuação no Pantanal Norte. 2020 is definetely being a tough year for the Pantanal. First we had the pandemy that practically halted the tourism and thus the income of numerous local families, now we have the big problem of the wild fires. On this dry season the fire is consuming the Pantanal at an alarming rate, maybe the worst year in history. Thousands of hectares are being destroyed and an uncountable number of animals are dying.
The governmental aid is small and tied to bureoucracies and questionable political motives, so it takes very long to reach where it really needs to. So local tourism operators, lodges and NGO’s have united to fight the fires in the most critical areas. But this requires money and in a year where tourism is halted, gathering the needed resources is not that simple. We need urgent resources to buy equipment and pay local workers to fight the fires on the field. The works are being focused in North Pantanal, specially around the Transpantaneira and the Meeting of the Waters State Park, in Porto Jofre area.
So I am selling fine art prints as a way to gather resources for the cause. Papaya Imagens, located in São Paulo, gently gave 5 free prints in high quality inkjet at the size 59 x 42 cm (A2), in museum quality Canson paper. The amount paid will be 100% donated to fight the fire in the Pantanal. The money will be transferred to Panthera, an NGO with high international prestige in the conservation of the big cats, with a strong presence in North Pantanal.
