Itinerary

October 23: The host will meet the group at the Cuiabá Airport in the morning. Next we catch a private van to the Pantanal, with a stop for lunch at the town of Poconé. Soon we will be entereging the famous Transpantaneira Road, with 122 bridges and lots of wildlife around it, providing the first photos. Check-in at Pouso Alegre Lodge and photography the rest of the afternoon. In the evening we will make a brief introduction and pass some tips on Lightroom and Photoshop, as well as critique reviews of guests photos, activities that we can repeat through the trip.

October 24: Whole day dedicated to explore the incredible Pouso Alegre property, where wildlife is abundant. Here we may find mammals like Giant and Southern Anteaters, Tapir, Crab-eating Fox, Howler and Capuchin Monkeys, Marsh and Brocket Deers, etc. Many birds will also be found, from aquatic to forest birds, and even owls. We will have the van with us throughout the trip to help with transport.

October 25: We will leave early to shoot at the Transpantaneira, going South towards Porto Jofre. We will pass through many special places, with great photo opportunities. Lunch at the hotel and afternoon out with the boat for the first Jaguar! The boat used has a capacitty for 10 persons, with very good space and comfortable seats. The engine is a silent 150 hp 4-stroke, there’s also long distance radio and a pilot with enormous experience in the region, with photographers and at spotting Jaguars.

Testimonials

“I want to thank you again for a great trip to the Pantanal and Bonito region. The photographic opportunities, accommodations, and food were all excellent – your meticulous planning and knowledge of the area made for a fine trip. The transportation arrangements were perfect. The experience of watching and photographing the magnificent macaws and all the abundant wildlife in the Pantanal was everything I had hoped it would be. I definitely look forward to more trips with you in Brazil.”
Bill Harbin – USA

“For quite some time the Pantanal has been on our list of places we wanted to go to. In 2011 we decided now is the time. Having been through the various tours and other options, there was no doubt, Octavio was the one we wanted to join. We signed up immediately, and we haven’t had any reasons for regrets. Octavio is a dedicated and determined guide. Everything worked in a smooth and unstressed way. The group we joined was small, and we are sure, that the photographic outcome was outstanding for everyone. Thank you.”

Many thanks for a great trip to the Pantanal. All your arrangements for accommodation and transport worked extremely well, allowing us to concentrate on wildlife viewing and photography. Encounters with Jaguars exceeded our expectations by far, giving us great photo opportunities, aided by the very experienced boat driver. The macaws were superb and gave us wonderful opportunities for flight photography. Your knowledge of the area and its wildlife greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the trip.
