Brazil has approximately 1,800 species of birds, an extremelly high number that should rise even more with the frequent discovery of new species or those of unknown occurence in brazilian territory. This rich and diverse bird life is partly due to the sheer size of the country but, mostly, to the enormous variety of ecossystems. The birds may be small, large, colorful, beatiful, strange, etc.
All of the photos here are of wild birds in freedom, except when otherwise stated.
